Furukawa Unic Corporation has expanded its range of mini crawler cranes with the launch of the new “UM325” model in Europe. This innovative crane boasts a maximum lifting capacity of 3,230 kg, making it a powerful yet compact option for various lifting tasks. A standout feature of the UM325 is its high-capacity lithium-ion battery, designed to reduce carbon emissions and support sustainable operations. The inclusion of this rechargeable battery represents a significant shift toward greener, more energy-efficient lifting technologies. Designed with a compact body, the UM325 measures just 750 mm in width, 3,130 mm in length, and 1,945 mm in height. This small footprint is ideal for maneuvering in tight spaces, yet it does not compromise on performance. The crane’s pop-up column design further enhances its ability to operate in restricted areas, adding a level of versatility that makes it suitable for a wide range of job sites, from construction to urban environments.
A key feature of the UM325 is its lithium-ion technology, which powers both the crane and its high-capacity battery pack. The battery allows for continuous charging during operation, ensuring the crane can maintain a steady workflow without significant downtime. This design not only improves operational efficiency but also helps minimize the crane’s environmental impact by reducing the need for fossil fuels. For enhanced performance, the UM325 can be fitted with an optional hydraulic tilt jib, which significantly extends its lifting capabilities. When equipped with this jib, the crane can achieve a maximum lifting height of 17.7 meters and a working radius of 15.6 meters. These specifications make the UM325 ideal for tasks that require both precision and height, providing operators with the flexibility needed to handle various types of lifts in different environments.
Safety and ease of use are at the core of the UM325’s design. The crane is fully controlled via a radio remote, allowing operators to manage the crane’s movements and operations from a distance. This feature enhances operator safety by reducing the need for manual intervention during lifts and setup. The crane’s remote-controlled travel function further ensures that it can be operated with precision, even in tight or hazardous conditions. One of the standout innovations of the UM325 is its flexible variable outrigger system. With five extension angles and three extension positions, the crane’s outriggers are designed to adapt to various ground conditions and space constraints. This flexibility ensures that the crane can maintain optimal stability and performance, even when working in confined or uneven areas, while the compact column minimizes the need for additional space.
The pop-up turret design of the UM325 further enhances its ability to operate in close proximity to obstructions, such as walls or other structures. By reducing rear overhang, the crane can safely work in narrow areas without compromising its load-handling capabilities. This makes the UM325 particularly well-suited for urban environments where space is often limited. Lastly, the UM325 comes standard with non-marking tracks, ensuring that it can operate on sensitive surfaces without causing damage. This feature is especially valuable for indoor jobs or projects where maintaining surface integrity is crucial. Combined with its auto-leveling system, which simplifies setup, the UM325 provides an efficient and environmentally friendly solution for a wide range of lifting needs.
